Melun - France

The French partner, ADSEA ( Association Départementale de Sauvegarde de l'Enfance et de l'Adolescence) with its two establishments "Logis Formation" and "La Haute bercelle" participates in "Mind the gap" project.

The registered office of A.D.S.E.A.is located in Melun (France, 2 bis, rue Saint-Louis).

Logis Formation is an establishment for people with social and family difficulties specialized in vocational training.
Its public is constituted by around 100 students:

  • 13-21 years old for specific measures of training settled by the authorities for young people.
  • Adults (in accordance).

Its aims are:

  • To be socialized, be orientated and be prepared to face to professional life (from 13):
    • Take advantage of a follow-up and educational support
    • Learn how to live together
    • Develop potentiality of young people
    • Consolidate and deepen further assets
    • To be guided at school and at a professional level.
  • Then:
    • Discover trades and companies
    • Acquire professional gestures
    • Adapt social behaviour
    • Mobilization on personal objectives
  • To become professional, to qualify, to integrate society (from 16):
    • Improve one’s relationship with others
    • Experience of professional ways and choose job orientated track
    • To re motivate oneself and to develop one’s assets
    • To make profit from a follow-up and educational support
  • And
    • Attain vocational training and to obtain the complete or partial diploma
    • Receive official professional titles of the Ministry of Labour in the following sectors:
      • Cooking – Catering trade
      • Gardening - Painting - Masonry – Tiling
      • Office worker
  • Or
    • To acquire the competences attested in these fields (delivery of a portfolio of skills)
    • And to take benefit from accompaniment to the professional life by an alternation between company training and class

The other institution, La Haute bercelle, is an institution for young girls 16 – 21 years old with social and family difficulties.

Its public is constituted by:

  • 20 young girls in social difficulties
  • attending regular school
  • looking for employment / training
  • getting in workforce (work experience, vocational training)
  • temporary jobs
  • others difficulties
  • young single mothers or pregnant

The aims of the youth hostel section are:

  • guiding, helping people to gain their self-sufficiency
  • to recover their self-confidence and to solve their difficulties

The aims of the individual accommodation are:

  • meant for people who are in the way of autonomy
  • springboard to the social and professional life

Their means are:

  • Team of special needs teachers, psychologists
  • Individual guiding toward homework for attending school people
  • Helping for employment and social steps
