The Pasvorm is part of Rijn IJssel : Regional Education Centre for learning a trade: profession on the levels 1 (assistant), 2 (independent), 3 (fully independent) and 4 (management).

The Pasvorm offers the training AKA: work orientated assistant (level 1). We teach them the necessary skills to work: how to behave, to begin right on time, etc.

  • With low self-esteem

The educational concept:

1. Practical

The Pasvorm has its own practical centres: bike shop, clothing- and gifts shop, lunchroom, welding factory, garage, etc
The character of a practical centre:

  • Led by instructors who have worked in that vocation
  • No simulation
  • Learning by practising
  • Small groups
  • Allowed to make mistakes

2. Work

  • Learning to work by placing them in a company
  • As soon as possible
  • Every student is placecable (matching)
  • At first they have to learn common working skills
    • You begin on time
    • You are friendly, etc
  • Whatever goes wrong or must improve: practise it in our own practise centre
  • At the end: a working contract

3. Training

  • All courses have a qualifying portfolio
  • Portfolio especially developed for our own students:
    • Who are you
    • What do you need
    • What do you have to learn
    • No tests, but products like a report of their research of a company or an interview with a colleague, etc.

4. Education (upbringing)

  • Learning how to live and behave. This comes back in al parts of the concept

Pasvorm methodology

  • The student is the most important person
  • Everything will be learned by practising
  • Small groups (classes)
  • No simulation
  • At the end a working contract
  • The possibilities of each student is crucial, not what he can’t do
  • We take the students seriously
  • We have to bond/connect with the students
